Yusuf Ahmed is a Somali footballer who plays as a forward for Avondale in the National Premier Leagues Victoria and the Somalia national team. Starting his career in the youth setup of Melbourne City, Ahmed quickly earned recognition, winning the club's Rising Star award in 2018. International Career In November 2023, Ahmed was called up to the Somali national team for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after drawing attention from the Somali Football Federation through a family connection. He made his competitive debut on November 16, 2023, scoring Somalia's only goal in a 3-1 match against Algeria at Nelson Mandela Stadium, a milestone as Somalia's fourth goal in World Cup qualifying history.
